The
idea of VHO (Village Health Organization) was conceived
by Engineer Shaikh Arz Mohammad, who witnessed once an
sick old lady from a viallge, going by foot to a small
town. The town was almost 9 km aways from where Arz Mohammad
picked her in his jeep and dropped her to the near by
hospital / clinic. Not to mention, there was no hospital
/ medical facilities in her own village and more over
there was no system for transportation to reach ther nearest
town for getting medical treatments.
This
situation, he thought was not with this one lady only,
but it was with the masses living in villages in general.
Again,
what treatment this lady would have received, how much
she would have paid for such a poor quality of treatment,
and how she would have returned to her village are the
questions that is very difficult and painful to answer.
To
answer such difficult questions, VHO (Village Health Organization)
was created. The objective is that instead of villagers
living where there is no health facility should not be
required to travel to another town for their treatments.
Rather, a Doctor or a Medical Team would travel to their
small villages to provide FREE MEDICAL TREATMENT to the
villagers and then would return back to their own Towns.
